This front yard needed a bit of a refresh from its origins in a developed community the was design predominately with lawns. BKLD's design provided a design that did away with high water use turf while incorporating bay friendly plantings and created an arrival walkway experience to the front door. Concrete pavers were chosen for ease or installation and cobble feel. Drought resistant and low water use plantings such as Little Ollies, creeping raspberry, teucrium and lavender (to name a few) were used to allow for seasonal color and interest in creating a more dramatic entry than the previous lawn and concrete. An informal bluestone stepper path was also incorporated to allow daily use from the driveway to the entry for the homeowners. Landscape lighting was also installed to enhance the night-time experience as well as adding a better sense of safety. Enjoy!
