Practicality and function of everyday life with three young children was heavily factored into the in-house design of this 5 bedroom, 4-1/2 bath custom home in the Showfield community. We designed the home around the owner’s request for an open plan kitchen with large working pantry, dining and living areas, and incredible indoor-outdoor living space. An 18-foot Pella stacking patio door opens to the rear porch and patio with a retractable Phantom Screen system. Koch cabinets and an 11-foot quartzite waterfall island are the showstoppers in the Kitchen. A hidden door in the kitchen cabinetry leads to large pantry with a wet bar, additional cabinets and a bank of adjustable shelving. A French wood pocket door leads into the mudroom, where a custom built in with cabinets and lockers help keep the busy family organized.
