Lounge Chair 01 was part of a DWR competition out of Chicago for a manufactured line produced by DWR. This chair was a fiberglass molded piece made of three simple pieces, connected only by friction. It could be easily taken apart and stored, or shipped.
Lounge Chair 02 was based on chair 01, displayed in the DWR Chicago Competition. Chair 02, however, was altered and resized to accomodate a new design entirely out of salvaged lumber. Each of the 240 strips were painstakingly cut out by hand and then laminated and sanded by hand to assemble the chair seat. A new chair base was created to redistribute the weight and accomodate the new material. This chair was part of the 2010 ShowPDX exhibition in Portland, Oregon.
