Rather than reinforcing boundaries between art, landscape and living spaces, the design of this waterfront home seeks to challenge them by bringing them into shifting combinations. An art collector and artist herself, the owner provided a program that transcends distinctions between dwelling and gallery. On the one hand, the goal was to provide her with privacy and independence. On the other, it was to accommodate extended family, larger gatherings, and potential future live-in caregivers.
