Garden Sunroom
This is a showhouse at the Auerbach Mansion. The room had seen better days when we found it. The bones were great so we kept them and decorated and restored the fountain. I believe they were well ahead of their time incorporating the sound of water, the feel of nature and the calm of fresh flower in an indoor space. The main element is the painstakingly hand painted murals by William Riley. We kept the original chandelier and painted the ceiling midnight blue. We also added the molding to keep the space more intimate. For the chairs we chose white as not to distract from the floral feel. Then we added a bit of whimsy with the McKenzie Child's classic ottoman. We brought a bit of the outside in to the room with a subtle sound system that was used to supplement the sound of the birds and wind chimes. All in all a place that anyone would love to go to retreat from the outside world!
