Golden Colorado Renovation

This project was a complete back yard renovation from start to finish. The old timber wall were taken down and granite boulders make the area much softer. As time progresses the plantings will fill in and hide the mulch, creating a colorful natural quilt.

The siloam slab steps provide easy access to the upper and lower portions of the property. Granite boulders retain the 12' of grade change that previously was a rotting timber wall.

The composite deck was added to increase the living space directly off the living room and kitchen in the home. Brick columns were built from the ground up to add the feel of permanence and marry the deck to the house.

The natural gas fireplace, which is also built to burn wood became the focal point of the back yard. The paver patio is a great area for family and friends to relax and tell stories of past good times and also an area to create new ones.

The slab steps allow for access from the lawn or stone patio to the upper garden. Perennials and flowering shrubs will fill the areas between the boulders and create a living wall.

The smoker and natural gas grill provide great ways to prepare any sort of meal. The raised bar provides a nice area to catch up with family and friends. Brick veneer was used to tie the house and outdoor kitchen together.

The dining area was added for easy access off the house. This additional space draws guests away from the house and perches over the gardens below.

Brick columns tie the new deck into the house and provide a sturdy structure for the composite decking. Beefy timber stairs create a smooth transition from upper to lower levels.
