Grant Nursery
Our previous clients came to us wanting to design a nursery for their expecting baby boy. Their inspiration of a vintage safari theme was taken from a family photo of her Aunt posing with an elephant. We incorporated a textural grass cloth above dark wainscoting to create a moody backdrop for the space. Different tones of wood were used throughout the room in the furniture pieces including the light fixture, crib, dresser, and end tables. We also included mixed metals and ceramics in the lamps to create even more texture with materials. The impala horns and the rhinoceros image are a mature approach on artwork for the child to grow with without feeling too juvenile. The addition of soft textures in the upholstery, rug and bedding help all of the mixed textures and hard surfaces blend for a cohesive space. Our goal was to create a textural, sophisticated take on the vintage safari theme while still being a “kid-friendly” space to grow in.
