Hugh Lofting Timber Framing (HLTF) worked closely with Torchio Architects on the design of a new modern timber frame house in Centreville, Maryland, including developing timber frame and steel connection designs and an overall strategy for using glued-laminated (glulam) beams. HLTF manufactured and installed Southern Yellow Pine glulam beams and Douglas Fir tongue-and-groove deck material that accent all of the home’s main living spaces. The house exemplifies how timber framing and modern design can be paired successfully.
