Halifax Reno
• Upon beginning this project the original home was covered with a faded and plain coloured horizontal vinyl siding on the entire building surround with dated shutters on the front façade.
• The exterior material not only dated the home, but had multiple locations where leaks and holes became an issue larger than just the siding alone.
• The siding was stripped, all areas were re flashed, and Tyvek was installed, so the home was completely sealed and additional insulation was added to the exterior upgrading the building envelope.
• New vinyl siding was supplied and installed on the exterior in a dark grey colour, accenting the front door system extremely well. With this siding style and colour choice, the home still fit in perfectly with its surroundings.
• All new fascia metal, soffits, 5.5” white corners and roof returns we’re added spice up the front of the house and give some much needed colour variation.
• Shutters were removed and replaced with a thick 3.5” white brick mold surrounding the newly installed windows, and a header with matching pediments were installed around the door system.
• Multiple new ENERGYSTAR rated windows were installed along with new entrance door system including a stained fiberglass front door with stained glass and dentil shelf. The new windows and doors offered both comfort and security, and ensured no airy drafts throughout the home.
• The old roof and shingles along with the underlay and sheathing were peeled off and replaced with new upgraded materials. New high quality Owen’s Corning shingles with limited lifetime warranty were installed over the entire roof and the roof was sealed properly with ice/ water shield and “RoofGard”. The shingle colour accents the front façade very nicely.
• The front step was torn off and re-built larger with access stairs and more importantly to the meet new building codes and ensure the safety for all its occupants. It was also dressed up with aluminum black spindles, again to accent the front door system.
• Landscaping work under the front windows was completed to update the dead plant life. The front lawn grass was seeded to give an new and much more vibrate green look coming up the front steps from the sidewalk.
