Barbara Eberhart

Hawaiian

Barbara Eberhart moved to Hawaii from California is the 1980’s, and spent 30 years refining her flawless blended painting technique there, using the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands as her main inspiration. “My love for Hawaii runs deep.” says Eberhart. “It’s where I raised my two children and really started my career as a professional artist.” Eberhart’s love for Hawaii shines through in her paintings, with the turquoise waters of the Hawaiian ocean, spectacular jewel-toned sunrises and sunsets, and amazing sea-life acting as the main subjects for her work.

Eberhart resided on world famous Lanikai beach, where she would listen to the waves crash on the beach at night and watch the sunrise most mornings on the ocean coastline. “The ocean is the source of all life, and the soothing impact it has on you is undeniable.” says Eberhart. The Mokulua Islands, which are situated in Lanikai Bay, can be spotted in many of her portrayals of the ocean. Whether depicted during one of its beautiful sunrises or framed by elegant plumeria flowers, Eberhart’s depictions of the ocean undoubtedly express the peace and serenity the artist feels when she’s near it, and are essential artwork additions for anyone who also holds Hawaii as a special place in his or her heart.
