To access this house I had to deal with difficult grade issues and lake bluff setbacks. That early challenge lead me to an opportunity to create a footbridge solution into the front porch flying over a Japanese style garden with running koi ponds. Can you find the orange koi?

This client lived in Japan for two years and wanted that influence here in her house in the Midwest. The unique french doors lead to the "Far East Room" (literally the farthest eastern room in house) designed for yoga and mediation with Tatami mats and sit down views of the sunrise and summer...

We used recycled clay tiles from an old barn in France which even had dog prints in them. The shower floor are rocks from Lake Superior that we sliced in the tile saw.

This is a half bath featuring a Kohler Spun Glass Vessel sink, St.Croix Stone countertop and tumbled stone wainscot, and a heated Mankato Stone floor.
