We removed the low 8' ceiling and roof, rebuilt the roof to allow for 11' ceilings, and combined two rooms to create one grand space for Kitchen, Dining, and Living. A large expanse of doors and windows were added to take advantage of the view of the bay.
Because the house is on a sloping site we were able to remove an area of the crawlspace and add a lower level Den.
