Home in the Woods

The tight kitchen with worn out wood flooring needed a big fix. Removing everything to the studs, adding some floor space, a mud room and opening up the whole area allowed for a better flow, and a beautiful eclectic space. Custom cabinetry, Australian cypress wood floors, and new high ceiling makes the place the hub of the home. The mud room adds storage, easy in and out in any weather, and is pet friendly, besides being a lovely workspace.

Kitchen in process. Custom alder cabinets with lighter finish above. Shelf on left for freestanding microwave (with pizza warming drawer) Australian cypress wood floors add to rustic elegance to come. Farmhouse sink gives ample space for the cook.

Focal point is custom designed vent hood over client's existing stove. Hood sides have hidden spice drawers.

Kitchen is done, and ready for holiday guests. Space is ample and walls were removed on either side of fireplace to allow easy access from LR and other parts of the house. Fireplace (opposite stove area) served as the anchor in the center of the house.
