Charming side garden at this homeland residence has been updated to better fit the space. The terrace was expanded to allow for multiple functions side-by-side. A curvilinear walkway adds interest and pulls the hardscape away from the residence, where the previous iteration was subject to snow falling from the roof.
A cobblestone border was added to prevent mulch washing over the hardscape and allowed the grade to stay high around the existing Japanese Maple.
A planting was installed as phase 2, featuring evergreen screening and perennials with bright foliage to contrast the deep shade.
