One of the things that we loved most about working on this 32 room boutique hotel project in the heart of Tulum was that despite being in the middle of town, there was plenty of jungle vegetation maintained throughout the property. A large bio pool in the center of the property is reminiscent of cenotes that can be found throughout the region.

The focus of our design was to allow the natural beauty of the vegetation to shine, and to feel the charm of the surrounding jungle all while within the comfort of the room. We used local materials and techniques to add texture and warmth to the spaces, and soft textiles to heighten the senses and add that extra luxurious touch.

Large glass sliding doors and windows help bring the outside in, and black accents throughout provides a contrast for the eye that are just enough to ground the various elements without overpowering them.

The experience of staying in SOKO is one of tranquility, harmony with nature, and peace.
