We built two extensions or additions onto the back of a traditional one-story brick house in Houston. The new wings flank the pool and face each other. A master suite was added with his and hers closets and bathrooms on opposite sides of the bathroom. The kitchen was renovated and a laundry room was added in the other extension. A fireplace and built-in bookshelves were added to the family room. The formal living room also has new built-in bookshelves. All the additions were designed to integrate with the original home.
