House on the Bay
Designed by Italian architect Andrea Ponsi, with our office as architect of record, this home is situated on the shore of Tiburon Bay. The house is comprised of four distinct programmatic wings that form the edges of a central open-air courtyard and art gallery. The house incorporates subtle changes in floor elevation to create a descending terracing effect as one approaches the beach. The standing seam copper roof and Ipe rainscreen façade will weather naturally, connecting it back to the site over time. Large sliding glass doors and windows allow the courtyard and waterfront deck to become extensions of the interior, reinforcing the continuity between the house and its surrounding landscape.
