How To Make Your Home Smell Better?

A good and pleasant smell at home reflects your personality. That’s why keeping your home environment pleasant should be your priority.

It is possible to make your home smell better in a number of ways. You can clean floors with good smell detergents, install humidifiers, make DIY room spray and more.

In this article, I will discuss some of my favorite methods that you can also use to make your home smell good.

7 Ways That You Can Use To Make Your Home Smell Better?

1- Use lemon

Make a DIY room spray by boiling 3/4 cup water in the kettle or pot and then pouring it into a measuring cup.
Allow it to steep for a few moments. Place a coffee filter in a funnel and let it sit for a few minutes.
To remove the basil, carefully pour the water mixture into the bottle. The filter should be removed before you discard it. The bottle should be filled with 3/4 cup of distilled water, 1 tablespoon of vodka, and 5 drops of lemon essential oils.
To combine the mixture, attach the spray bottle top and shake it. Spray the odor eliminator all over the room, if necessary.

2- Open the Window

The fastest way to freshen up a room is to open the windows and let fresh air in. The indoor air quality is less likely to be as good as the outside air unless you live near an industrial area or busy highway.

Every morning, make it a habit of opening your windows for as long as the weather and privacy allow. You'll notice a freshening effect on your home and a boost in energy. It's a win-win situation.

3- Clean Your Carpets

The carpet is very comfortable to walk on. It muffles sound and temperature swings and muffled noises. However, it retains bacteria, mold, pollen and other contaminants from your feet and shoes. These nasties can cause a bad odor over time.

However, you don't have to use harsh chemicals to clean your carpet. Baking soda is a better choice. It's inexpensive and easy. Simply apply a thick coating to your carpet and let it sit for an hour. Then, vacuum up the dust along with any smells.

4- Essential Oil Wax Melts

To make your wax melt, you'll need a slow cooker and slow cooker liner.
Add a plastic liner first to the slow cooker. Next, add 2 cups of soy wax pellets to the slow cooker and turn the heat down. Add one teaspoon of lavender essential oil, 3/4 teaspoon of cedarwood oil, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essential oil to the melted wax.

Before carefully removing the liner, mix thoroughly. Place the liner in a cup and fold the excess plastic around the edges. Add dried lavender to the silicone mold. Pour the wax mixture over it.

5- Easy DIY Air Freshener

You might not be a fan of reed diffusers, but you want to refresh your surroundings with pleasant fragrances that aren't synthetic. You don't have to worry; you can make your room spray using natural ingredients.

All you need is a spray bottle with a cap, some distilled water, three tablespoons of rubbing alcohol (or unflavored vodka), and at least 20 drops of your favorite essential oils. You can use a single fragrance or mix relaxation-enhancing oils such as lavender, chamomile and vanilla.

Spray the air as often as you like with the mixture in a spray bottle.

6- Linen Spray

This DIY linen spray can refresh towels, bedding, clothing, and fabric-covered furniture. Mix
one tablespoon of vodka in a measuring cup. Fill a spray bottle with the mixture.

Add 35 drops of essential oil to the spray bottle. You can also use other scents if you wish. Fill the remaining portion of the spray bottle with distilled water. Attach the spray bottle lid and shake well. Spray linens whenever necessary to maintain a fresh scent.

7- Wash the sheets

Clean, soft sheets are the best. However, they absorb a lot of bodily fluids and skin particles every night. If you go too long without washing your sheets, your sheets may smell funny.

Keep the air clean by regularly washing the sheets and stripping your bed every week. This is especially important if your pets are allowed to sleep with you or if you have allergies.
Change your pillowcases every other night if you want to go one step further. This will not only keep your room fresh but also keep your skin looking great.
