Indianapolis Moving Prep

This household is prepping to move out of state. The big challenges are to purge about 1/3 of the belongings and to have the house ready to be staged. Homeowner conquered some spaces alone or with minimal Organizational coaching. Together we tackled the toughest spaces. We purged, packed and created a marvelous area in the garage that is ready for movers to load & go!

We started by deciding on where to stage boxes for the movers where purged items would go (Family members, local nonprofits, misc. donations). We started in one corner and worked our way through it all in one day.
Let's remedy the garage catch-all
Currently needed items were kept by the door to the house. Stacks were made for various family members along one wall. The middle space was designated for donations that would leave in my car today.
Wow! Simply sorted!
What's a good purge without sharing with family!? These are ready for pick up. They will happily live in a new space and not be moved out of state.

AFTER sorting every item and collapsing shelves along these walls, these items are ready to load in the truck. Now that the garage is staged, we're ready to add completed boxes from the house.

It's terrific to have these items at the driveway and ready to load. This grouping makes for an efficient move.
Moving truck time!
This storage space now holds only old paint. Homeowner will check each can -- anything fully dried out can be safely trashed. Liquids will be taken to hazardous waste.

Art supplies have been well used and greatly enjoyed. Some will stay and some will go. So many young artists will benefit by this family's generosity!

Closets that are well organized are, of course, faster to pack. Some sections of this room were done in rapid fire speed.
Pack her up!
Craft supplies take up lots of space and can be tough to maintain. Together we sorted what to take, what to donate and what to keep out for now. The family was terrific at making decisions, so the process moved along quickly.
