This urban design highlights the industrial elements that already exist in a basement. The exposed steel I-beam, the concrete floors and the open ceiling joist design creates a refined urban loft feel. The old wood framed stairs were removed and replaced with a steel monostringer and cable rails. The existing HVAC ducting was relocated to create symmetry in the ceiling design and provide more ceiling height. Custom steel counter tops compliment the metallic resin concrete floors. Reclaimed wood accent walls provide balance for the cold steel and create a warm and comfortable feel.
