One of the biggest challenges of this project wasn't choosing beautiful finishes—it was helping our client translate her vision into a cohesive, livable home.
She had collected inspiration for years and knew exactly how she wanted her home to feel: warm, sophisticated, timeless, and layered. What she didn't know was how to bring those ideas together into a home that worked both architecturally and functionally. Our role was to bridge that gap.
Through the Tran + Thomas Luxury Living Design Process, we transformed individual ideas into a complete design plan, developing the architectural details, selecting materials, designing custom millwork, curating furnishings, and layering textures that all work together. Every decision was made with the larger vision in mind, creating a home that feels intentional rather than pieced together. By planning every detail before construction began, we were able to give the client confidence in every decision while helping the entire project run more smoothly.
Our involvement extended well beyond the design phase. Throughout construction, we worked closely with the builder and trades to ensure every detail was executed to the highest standard. One notable challenge arose in the primary bathroom, where the grout installation on the feature wall behind the vanity did not meet the design intent or quality standards. Rather than asking the client to accept a compromised result, we advocated on her behalf, working directly with the tile installer and contractor until the installation was corrected. It's one of many examples of how our role goes beyond selecting beautiful materials—we remain actively involved throughout construction to protect the integrity of the design and ensure our clients receive the quality they deserve.
The completed home is a reflection of thoughtful planning, collaboration, and meticulous attention to detail.
