This is home to a couple, their three boys, and an adorable pup. It had been renovated and expanded a few years prior, but never felt quite right. Their very large family room was dark and felt oddly small with its dark brown L-shaped sectional, and wasn't functioning well for family time or entertaining occasions. It also didn't relate well to the adjacent kitchen dining area. My goal was to devise a more inviting and flexible seating arrangement, to freshen and visually expand the space with the client's preferred warm, earthy hues, and to create a space that was practical and durable for this active family. I introduced a light neutral palette accented with orange, copper, and bronze tones with a texture, incorporated a variety of seating types with an improved flow, and added interesting, yet durable textiles and decorative touches that, altogether, give the family a room that fits their lifestyle to a "T." I also updated the dining area with new side and host chairs, as well as lighting and a rug to tie the rooms together.

In 2017, I also had the opportunity to design and decorate their brand new pool house, and then in 2018, I was brought back to transform their master bedroom into a 'bold serene' oasis.
