Inspired by traditional tea houses of Japan, we helped these clients create a tranquil garden retreat behind their rural Sheboygan Falls home in which to entertain, relax, and enjoy the picturesque countryside. Designed in the chashitsu style and proportions with exposed cedar rafter tails, structure, and trim, the tea house consists of a covered veranda and small room designed for a host and three guests to sit on Nagoya tatami floor mats around a central "hearth" with a tokonoma alcove behind the host.
