Japanese Water Gardens
2012 Award Winner: Minnesota Nursery & Landscape Association
The homeowners' backyard had become overgrown. The existing koi pond was barely visible and an in-ground swimming pool was no longer used. The goal was to rejuvenate the existing pond, and replace the pool with a second larger pond, extending an Asian theme throughout the property. The result is a series of waterfalls and open water surrounded by natural stone patios, paths and outcrops and vegetated with sculptural plants, creating a suburban oasis of peace and tranquility.
