Johansen Table

This extending dining table was inspired by a danish modern design where the table top is flush with the table apron, making the form simple, yet sturdy. But instead of having one long continuous apron (which can be visually boring in a form this simple) we decided to do stack lamination, which means its a bunch of smaller pieces stacked on top of each other and then cut to shape. Also, to create a leg that is visually and physically strong, we opted for a dovetail that connects the legs to the apron. The table is divided into two halves which extends to accommodate extra dining table leaves for extra company.
