If there is one thing John and Janet didn't want, it was a white kitchen. On the top of their list was cabinetry with a rich, warm stain. They also needed better storage and a more open layout within the existing footprint. We angled the peninsula to create a more open flow, and still made room for seating on the back side. We removed a built-in pantry closet, and exchanged it for more functional pantry cabinets with pull-out shelves. Removing the ceiling soffit made the entire kitchen feel bigger and brighter.
