Johnson City Modern Rustic Two-Story

This 7,500-square foot home sits on beautiful land out in Johnson City, about 50 miles West of Austin. We collaborated with Mitch Schwartz Homes on this new construction project, which included everything from pouring the foundation to framing to finishing the home with modern rustic touches.

The home is spacious, with various indoor living areas and an outdoor entertainment area that includes a covered porch, kitchenette and outdoor fireplace. We installed hardwoods throughout, exposed cedar beams and natural stone in the living area for a rustic feel. This home is also energy efficient, with foam insulation and energy efficient appliances.

We installed these custom-made cedar beams for a rustic, yet modern feel. The beams accentuate the high ceilings and add texture to the living area. They tie the room together, as cedar is also featured in the mantle and the entryway, both interior and exterior.
