The Jourdan residence, finished in 2008, was a complete remodel and addition to an existing ranch style home. Located on Coffee Pot Bayou in St. Petersburg, Florida, the concept was to open the space up to the views of the water and embrace the backyard and its two weeping bottlebrush trees while preserving the existing intimate scale. The project enlarged the master bedroom and opened up the kitchen and living areas. The owner’s extensive glass collection inspired the design intent to carry light from one space to another. Custom built-in cabinets, with LED lighting to display the glass collection, were used to define the various living areas while maintaining an open feel.
