Passive House is recognized as one of the most energy-efficient types of buildings possible, and uses building techniques such as air-tightness, HRV Ventilation, advanced insulation strategies and building aspect to create 'passively' efficient components. By building this way, we can reduce the need for active systems such as furnaces and AC, creating a superior envelope. Passive Houses provide great comfort for the occupants, as it reduces hot/cold fluctuations inside the house, provides greater/healthier air quality and a quiet environment. Not all building lots are ideal for Passive House design. Lot choice is critical, and knowing what to look for can help with design/build costs, and ease of build.
