Kids Garden

Kids need to have space for imagination, to be creative, to interact with nature and just be kids. Play spaces can be more than just a swing set, they can be a beautiful and fun addition to the landscape that the whole family can enjoy.

Rustic Tractor Play
Pea gravel is fun to play with. Blueberry bushes mulched with sawdust in the background. In front of the play tractor is a sandbox for more outdoor fun.
Kids Corner
The tractor has made this upper terrace a focal point for the kids. Playing in the pea gravel with buckets is plenty of fun too. Blueberry grazing nearby. Steel boxes act as retaining walls for the change in elevation as well as providing space for growing vegetables.

Kids in the Garden
A treehouse designed and built by the client for his kids now has access and more fun elements. The area is also a place for the dogs to run.
Tree House & Sandbox
Logs from a neighbors downed tree were repurposed as a retaining wall in this play space for the kids and the dogs. Large Rhododendrons that once encroached on the entry path are now put to use as screening for the cyclone fence and public path.
Dog Run Garden
A treehouse built by the client for his kids now has a sandbox below and other places to play. Logs from a neighbors downed tree have been repurposed as a retaining wall, sandbox edging and terraces for the hillside.

We expanded the lawn area so the kids can run barefoot in the yard. Lots of paths and places to discover. There is a treehouse is down the hill behind you.

This old decorative concrete hopscotch was carefully deconstructed and reused as part of this front yard path that invites use by neighborhood kids.
Hop Scotch Path
