This kitchen was a study in maximizing a smaller space and mixing materials. We used roughly the same layout that existed, which is essentially a galley. But by minimizing the depth of cabinets on one wall and making the island a bit thinner, we were able to include all the aspects of a much larger kitchen. The island top is hand-scraped solid walnut. The counter tops are a textured limestone. The banquette base is a custom design (and built) by Mcmurray Inc in steel.
