We live in an area surrounded by woods. Our goals were to add light to the kitchen/family room area, to add counter seating and to increase the seating in the family room. We also wanted to add a new fireplace and flatscreen TV. Initially, we planned to vault the ceiling, but we ended up adding 6 skylights instead and are very happy with the results. We also dropped the windows over the kitchen sink to counter level and added a third window to take advantage of the views of the forests. The project was started in July 2015. It expanded to include outdoor work, dining room and powder room updates. It is now November and we are just wrapping up loose ends (Carpeting, backsplash etc).
