The island was a two level island and very dated. The walls in both the kitchen and family room were painted a faux orange. I created a color palette of white walls and dark blue grey window frames, doors, island and bookshelf. I redesigned the island to be one level which meant modifying the book cases on either end. I also selected a beautiful quartzite counter. The dark blue grey island coordinates with the book cases in the adjoining room which we painted to match. The room also features, show stopping lights, natural edge wood counters and floating shelves.
