Kitchen Remodel: Opening a Closed Layout
This kitchen transformation focused on opening up a previously closed-off space to create a more functional and inviting layout.
By removing a wall, the kitchen was completely reimagined—allowing for better flow, improved natural light, and a stronger connection to the surrounding living areas. What was once a tight, enclosed workspace is now open and easy to move through, making it far more enjoyable for everyday use.
Warm wood tones were introduced to bring depth and softness to the space, balanced by clean-lined cabinetry that keeps the overall look fresh and timeless. A compact island with integrated seating was added to provide a casual spot for meals, gathering, and additional prep space—making the kitchen more versatile without overwhelming the footprint.
The result is a kitchen that feels significantly larger, brighter, and better suited to how the homeowners live today - proving that thoughtful layout changes can completely transform a space.
NOTE: Because this was a townhouse project, careful attention was given to balancing design, function, and investment—ensuring the space felt elevated and well-designed without overbuilding for the home. The customer may opt for granite/quartz and a tile back splash for phase 2!
