KITCHEN | Whimsical Farmhouse Kitchen Makeover
This delightful vintage inspired kitchen is located in So-Cal's ever-charming and cool Larchmont Village! Small in size but BIG on impact, this little kitchen has been through a breathtaking makeover. Born out of a strong client vision, the mission here was to capture the period details of the original 1920's bungalow design while integrating the unique, funky, and creative design style and taste of the owner. Rustic plank flooring, white crisp period inspired cabinets, white Caeserstone(TM) countertops and glossy mini subway tiles merge with owner's deeply personal family antiques and found pieces which were integrated strategically so as to deliver a cohesive, high functioning space that brings in tons of light! New windows that merge seamlessly with the original windows were designed and installed using some of the kitchen's original hardware, while some were found at LA's famous Liz's Hardware. Rustic and reclaimed wood floors and state-of-the-art appliances were used while a wonderful vintage Northstar(TM) refrigerator sits proudly a midst the new custom cabinets. The custom rolling ladder is a stunning and user-friendly highlight as is the custom built Barn Door (made with love by the owners using hand-picked reclaimed wood). Installed with new (but rustic in style) barn door hardware by Rustica(TM), the door glides with ease. Finally, the client's vintage and family heirlooms and art pieces were sprinkled about to create a cool, whimsical, personal space that I am sure will delight for years to come! This makeover is truly a client's masterpiece! Her strong vision and creative style was an inspiration!
