Kitty Enclosure

The "celestial viewing center" is 4'x8' and is attached to the upper patio roofline. It is enclosed with sun screen so it stays fairly cool and gets a nice breeze. The chute is carpeted inside. The kitties spend a lot of time napping there. They have the best mountain views!

The walkway goes to a column of enclosed steps. At the bottom of the steps is a cat door that leads into a small guest house. The guest house was converted to a "cat house" with FRP lining the walls.

We installed an "aqua garden" so the cats could entertain themselves with koi fish, plus have fresh drinking water. The aqua garden was critical because we did not want a chlorinated pond. We spend a lot of time sitting next to the pond ... with kitties on our lap.

Sun sails provide shade from the hot Phoenix summers. The cats have taken to using them as suspension bridges, and shortcuts across the enclosure.

The floor of the enclosure is currently dirt. It gets raked once/week to remove the waste. The cats also have cat boxes inside their house, plus we're training them to use the toilet inside their house.
