This was an amazing project because we were able to finish updating the two rooms of this home that we had not changed much in the previous years. It included three sisters all living in different states. I was not only the interior designer, but also the project manager. I hired the contractor, and some of the sub-contractors to complete the specialty finishes. This family home is so fun to create within, because we always start with the elements that the client wishes to keep, specifically the design aspects that their Mother selected thirty some years ago, before she passed away. Their Mom never got to live in the home, because she passed away before it was completed. So in each room there is an element of the wall paper or the window treatments or the fabric or something that we use as our spring board to create from. In this kitchen we opened up what was previously two rooms, one of which was never used (the breakfast nook) and created one huge space for many cooks to enjoy together.
