This beautiful kitchen was transformed from a rustic, closed off design to a transitional light and airy kitchen. The homeowner’s roots are in historic downtown Richmond and moved to the Oceanfront of Virginia Beach to be with her fiancé. Our goal was to combine classical elements of her traditional Richmond home with the her new modern beach home. Some of the classical elements we incorporated was the custom designed hood, exquisite marble-looking countertops with an ogee edge treatment, a black and white contrast using a black honed granite on the island, and a beaded inset cabinet frame. We toned down the classical elements and added a beachy twist by using a greenish back painted glass backsplash and white cabinets with a recessed panel.
