La Casita

This freestanding porch pavilion was sited independently of the main house to preserve a large existing hardwood and because zoning allowed greatly reduced setbacks for freestanding "accessory" structures. La Casita (named by some of the trade workmen) is a warm glowing lantern set in the landscape (also designed by Axios Architecture). It has proven effective for two to enjoy a glass of wine or part of a larger gathering, which often occurs at the home.
