Laguna Hills Kitchen
The dated '70's home of a fine artist and his wife was transformed into a backdrop to display his art. The first order of business was to raise the cramped 7'6" ceiling. A decorative truss system was added to the lone necessary structural beam to create visual interest. By removing a restrictive peninsula that separated the kitchen from a small family room, a multi-purpose open-plan great room was created. Used brick on the walls, a wood floor and large white wall with gallery lighting to display rotating art pieces promote a "loft" ambiance.
