Lake Austin House
The Lake Austin House Project was created as the center of family and social life, a place to raise children and to entertain guests on a large lot on the banks of Lake Austin, Texas. The site is unique in its size and character; it has dozens of mature trees providing a canopy of shade and is a high point in the area, making it beautifully illuminated every evening at sunset.
The concept for this modern home was to embrace the site and the views, working around the existing trees and enhancing the opportunities for outdoor living. Because this house is intended to serve the family for several generations it will be energy efficient and built with high quality, long lasting materials such as local limestone.
