While keeping the original, classic kitchen cabinets of this coastal cottage, the renovation included new appliances, sink, flooring, counter surfaces, and backsplash. The oak cabinets were sanded, thoroughly prepped and painted white. The original desk surface was sanded and stained with a rich, dark walnut finish. A bookcase became a bar. A rustic hutch was dressed up with glass door fronts and grass cloth. This "Heart of the Home" kitchen is now equipped for these "empty nesters" to enjoy entertaining.
