Energy efficient house using structural insulated panels, (SIPS). Rigid foam insulation is sandwiched by two oriented strand board sheets. These are accepted by building code as a direct substitution for a standard 2x6 stud exterior wall. The SIPS performs thermally much better since it eliminates most of the thermal bridging of standard studs walls. Both the walls and roof of this house use SIPS.
