Landscape Design Surrey
Client Testimonial Aug 2019:
“My wife looked at several landscaping and design companies online and had narrowed it down to a few, and after having called and spoken to a few of them she was charmed by Michael’s friendly yet professional response from the get-go. Some of the other companies came across a little arrogant and we felt rushed as we spoke to them. We weren’t able to articulate what we wanted specifically but we knew what we wanted the backyard to feel like, and this is where Michael Bjorge listened intently to every word we said about the feelings we wanted the garden to invoke when we would step out into the backyard. We also showed him pictures of parts of gardens we had seen and liked that we resonated with. He kept taking notes as we talked and daydreamed about the perfect backyard, we also discussed some practical points as we live on a hill, and our backyard slopes, he suggested leveling it into two tiers. He came back a couple of weeks later with a to scale blueprint, he had translated everything we had said into this beautiful design that flowed from one level to the next, as it was on paper still we struggled to fully visualize the conceptual design, so he actually walked around the backyard with us virtually giving us a tour of the design as it related to the now existing space, and as he did this we grew excited as we shared in his vision for our backyard. Now having a to scale blueprint of our dream backyard in hand, we kept in touch with Michael over the next few weeks further fleshing out the various parts of the vision which proved to be very fruitful as we were able to collaboratively enhance/expand some areas and foresee some potential challenges from now that could be mitigated in the design phase with some minor changes or if it was a aspect we wanted to really keep we could explore various solutions and budget them in. Having seen this vision enabled us to also see that our existing covered deck would not have the same vibe as the rest of the backyard, and this was added into the project. Just having this ability, thanks to the blueprint and having access to Michael probably saved us thousands in avoided mistakes by catching most of the issues so early on. Based on our experience thus far with Michael and his passion that shines through, we decided to retain Michael’s expertise as Project Manager to work with the Landscaping and Fence companies, making sure the design was correctly implemented. Michael visited the site on a weekly basis, and had the contractors send him photos at the end of each day. Our Landscaping company (recommended by Michael) and Fencing company were very good to in their own right. Having Michael in this capacity was of enormous help, as he came with a lot of experience under his belt and was a good liaison between us and the trades. We were particularly impressed with Michael when we came to the planting phase, he checked each tree/plant that the Landscaping company had procured, and requested several of the trees be changed for ones that had “better habits”, and when for a couple of the species the landscaping company had mentioned these were the best of what was available, Michael went shopping on his own to source the right ones of appropriate height and growth. Not only that but he arrived early on the morning of putting the trees and plants in and he individually orientated each tree to the direction it should go into the ground and he again did the same when we added all the accent lights, it’s this attention to details and finishing that we believe sets Pacifica Landscape Works Inc apart from others in the field. Which is why we want to thank you Michael from the bottom of ours hearts for helping us create our dream oasis, time just flies when we are outdoors now and everyone who see it for the first time are in awe, commenting on how peaceful and tranquil the space feels. You captured the essence of what we wanted and made it into a beautiful flowing living art, that is both functional and Zen. It mirrors the flow of our house in that the two levels have the perfect balance between open plan and discreet separated spaces. We feel truly blessed as we sometimes feel you have given us two backyards, by day we have the peaceful Zen garden with the pond-less water feature at the center and in the evening with all lighting together with the fire pits and the curved bench, makes the backyard feel like a rooftop garden on a luxury resort hotel somewhere!” Bev & Sandeep, Surrey B.C., Aug 2019
