Laurel East Kitchen

Before the space was closed in and the wall created a barrier between the kitchen and dining room.

This glass cabinetry creates a warm welcome into the kitchen. The client wanted to incorporate a china cabinet look to display dishes and provide extra storage space.

The kitchen felt cramped when rounding the tight corner and the soffit took away from the ceiling height.

By moving the wall back, the enlarged space creates a more open sight line. Removing the soffit and adding up lighting gave the kitchen the visual height that it needed.

The bland and outdated kitchen lacked interest.

Tall painted cabinetry and new appliances and fixtures brightened the space, creating a fresh, clean look. Adding drawers below the cooktop provides much needed storage for pots and pans.

On the other side of this wall was a tub/shower in the adjacent room's bathroom. Taking in that space would allow us to add extra cabinetry in the kitchen.

The refrigerator intruded into the space and the tall soffit shortened the space.

Relocating the refrigerator and opening up the wall into the dining room gave the client ample counter space and the breakfast bar they desired. Because of the narrow walk space, we chose to angle this cabinet.
