HALLETT & Co.

Lee

The Lee House, a 1999 traditional townhouse nestled within Historic Savannah, had far outlived the inefficiency of its dark and cumbersome layout. Matthew S. Hallett redesigned the dining room, kitchen quarters, and adjacent courtyard into a more elegant and mindful living space. Adding to the rear of the home granted an expansion of the kitchen into an L-shaped design, while relocating and resizing dining room doors to match existent living room pocket doors, refined interior movability and increased natural light. A small exterior balcony of ipe and steel gives ready access from the kitchen to the courtyard, creating an intimacy and cohesiveness between interior and exterior spaces.
