This client came to me with a small handful of shells and pebbles as the inspiration for her interior finishes. The home is located in White Rock overlooking White Rock Beach and the client was very clear about wanting the soft, West Coast beach colours to be predominant in their main living space.

The kitchen, bar, and office areas were all renovated. This was an extremely detail-oriented project, from the custom colours and brushed stainless toe kick to increasing the height of all the top drawers in the kitchen and designing a specific space to fit the client’s rolling pin. The clients and I spent many weeks in meetings, together and with the people at Nickels Cabinets, to perfect the custom stain on the quarter-sawn oak cabinetry. We also developed the custom paint colour for the upper cabinets in the kitchen to come as close as possible to the colour of the quartz countertops used for the back wall countertop and backsplash in the kitchen. The quartz used on the island replicates limestone beautifully. The countertop “waterfall” end of the island faces the living room area and the main entrance to the top floor space.
