This was a truly life changing reno. When we first visited the home the area you see in the photos was broken up into 3 rooms! The U-shaped kitchen was the smallest of the 3. It was reminiscent of a ship's galley, cramped and completely isolated. Given they are a family of 4 with an on the go lifestyle, we need to create a space that brought the family together. The kitchen is now the hub of the home creating a gathering place for friends and family that is not only beautiful but also functional for preparing and serving meals as well as entertaining guests. Additional cabinetry on the back side of the island provides extra storage for not so often used items as well as giving it a more substantial foot print.
