This room has a very high vaulted ceiling and originally the cabinetry was all the same height and depth with the light fixtures coming down from the ceiling. The scale appeared "off" due to the large volume of space at the top of the room and it was hard to light properly. Our staff designers came up with the "light bridge" which we engineered and executed. This piece adds architectural interest, anchors the large island, provides both task and decorative lighting, as well as visually brings that ceiling down. Varying the height and depth of the new custom cabinetry both added architectural interest while at the same time helping to scale the room.
