Built in the 1970s, the original house squanders the beautiful surrounding views of the Texas hill country. An intervening wall between the kitchen and the living room, as well as an odd layout, did not do justice to the setting. Due to unknown structural conditions in areas that were not being remodeled, this second-floor kitchen remodel posed a unique challenge. To reflect the day-to-day living and entertaining goals of this outgoing family, we opened up the wall facing the hills and updated the kitchen layout.
